This callcard was part of a range dubbed "Beautiful Ireland", which was specifically targeted at Ireland’s five million plus visitors. The Beautiful Ireland collection, which spearheaded their Summer callcard campaign, was developed following extensive research to establish which CallCard images have greatest appeal among tourists. A number of alternatives were studied and the Beautiful Ireland collection came out on top as the clear favourite. The CallCards were sold to agents in batches of 25, with a mixture of each visual in the packs.

From our own research, we believe the images were stock photography of "Slidefile Stock Photography Agency", co-owned by George Munday and Jaimie Blandford (more information at https://georgemunday.art/photography/).

Some of the images still exist online as part of "The Irish Image Collection", a company that George Munday setup in 2002 and subsequently was acquired in 2007.

During our own research, we found a copy of the image used (but not via the original Irish Image Collection listing), where it had both the sheep in the background and not.

Although the caption on the stock image refers to the location as "Morrisey's Pub, Belfast, Ireland", I have not been able to find a pub there with that name. If anyone can identify the pub, please let us know.
